The TimeTraveler is a historian who enters classrooms as a visitor to earlier times ~ an interpreter of the past who lives in the present. Wearing reproduction period clothing, this guide to the past brings along an assortment of antique and reproduction objects to engage students in lively conversation about life during historical events and eras.
Through dialogue, demonstration, historic costume and material culture, the TimeTraveler provides students with a unique understanding of past times ~ a tangible, interactive experience of the daily life and cultural settings for past events. TimeTraveler programs will challenge students to broaden their historical perspective, deepen their understanding of historic events, and inspire them to seek additional cultural and heritage experiences at museums and historic sites.
NJ teachers: help the TimeTraveler build programs to fit the needs of your class/curriculum. Kindly page to the teacher's survey, read the program information, and email your responses to a few short questions. Teachers who respond are entered into a drawing for a FREE presentation for the 2009-2010 school year.
TimeTraveler programs are grade-appropriate and can be tailored to meet specific needs.
